Haul extension not showing in Chrome?
Haul catches your downloads through Haul Browser Integration, a free extension in the Chrome Web Store. If you can't see it in Chrome, go through these steps.
1. Add it from the Chrome Web Store
Open Haul Browser Integration in the Chrome Web Store, click Add to Chrome, then Add extension. You can also get there from Haul: Options → Browser Integration → Add to Chrome.
2. Check that it is turned on
Type chrome://extensions into the address bar and press Enter (or open Chrome's menu ⋮ → Extensions → Manage Extensions).
- Find Haul Browser Integration and make sure its switch is on.
- If Chrome turned it off and shows Repair, click it, or remove the extension and add it again from the store.
- If it isn't in the list at all, it was removed: add it again (step 1).
3. Pin it to the toolbar
New extensions hide behind the puzzle-piece button at the right of the address bar. Click it and pick the pin next to Haul Browser Integration, so Haul's icon stays in the toolbar.
4. Make sure Haul is running
The extension hands downloads to the Haul app, so Haul has to be installed and running (it waits in the tray). Click Haul's icon in the toolbar: it should say Connected to Haul.
- Says Haul can't be reached? In Haul open Options → Browser Integration, choose Install / Repair, then close every Chrome window and open Chrome again.
- Don't have Haul yet? Download it here.
5. Incognito windows
Chrome keeps extensions out of Incognito windows. To use Haul there, open chrome://extensions, click Details under Haul Browser Integration and turn on Allow in Incognito.
Edge, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi and Arc
- Microsoft Edge: open the store page and choose Allow extensions from other stores when Edge asks, then Get / Add to Chrome. Its list is at
edge://extensions. - Brave, Vivaldi, Arc: add it from the store like in Chrome. Their lists are at
brave://extensions,vivaldi://extensionsandarc://extensions. - Opera: add Opera's Install Chrome Extensions add-on first, then the store's button works.
- Firefox: coming soon to Firefox Add-ons.
